Planning your screed installation
We discuss access, preparation, the proposed build-up and how the work fits with other trades. Where underfloor heating is involved, the heating and screed specifications need to be coordinated.
The time before a floor covering can be installed depends on the selected product and site conditions. We discuss the required drying and moisture checks as part of planning the work.
Why Floor Screeding Matters
Â
Proper floor screeding is key to the long-term performance of your flooring system. Without a solid screed, your floor may become uneven, leading to cracks, movement, and instability. Here’s why quality screeding matters:
- Stable Foundation
A properly screeded floor prevents damage to flooring materials and ensures they remain intact for years to come. - Smooth Surface
Screed creates a perfect, even base for any flooring type, making installation easier and ensuring a high-quality finish. - Improved Underfloor Heating
A smooth, well-installed screed layer maximises the efficiency of underfloor heating systems, providing faster and more even heat distribution.
