Sumps

A sump is a low-lying basin or pit designed to collect water. They are often used in basements, industrial sites, or drainage systems. Sumps serve as a collection point for excess water from the ground, rain, or leaks, preventing water from accumulating in unwanted areas.

Pumps

A pump is a mechanical device used to move water from the sump to a drainage system or another location where it can be safely discharged.

Non-Return Valves

A non-return valve (also known as a check valve) allows water to flow in one direction only, preventing backflow. When used with sumps and pumps, these valves ensure that water discharged through the pump doesn’t flow back into the sump when the pump stops running. When used on mains outlets during a peak flow event, they prevent hydrostatic pressure from surcharging wastewater flowing back up the pipes

The Benefits of a Backwater Protection Pump Station

The SW Build installed Backwater Protection Pump is the first of its kind, benefiting from a hybrid function. In normal operation it uses the natural slope to the sewage pipe. In the event of backwater from the sewage pipe, the pump is automatically switched on in order to reliably pump the building’s wastewater into the sewer.

This system benefits from reliable German manufacturing, and once installed, it has no running cost. The SWB installed Back Water Pump will continue to work, even in a flooding event and will keep your property protected from backflowing pipes.
